Venue History

This is a true South Florida, Miami gem. Perfect for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, corporate events, or more. This cottage style home was built in 1917 by W.K. Walton, a homesteading pioneer that originally built it as an avocado farm.

 

About The Venue

The English style cottage has a backyard that consists of 5 acres of tropical lush landscaping, a true natural oasis, complete with a waterfall, lagoon, flower garden, and exotic wildlife that will truly make your event stand out from the rest. The centerpiece of this paradise is the Chickee Hut, which stands beside the beautiful tropical lagoon.  

About My Experience

There is something special about arriving to a unique venue that has a special history to it, not your classic hotel ballroom. I was very impressed by how well manicured and maintained the property was. It was very picturesque and gave me almost the impression of a different era, place, or region. I really loved that.

As we exited the outside, I found myself immersed in a lush tropical beauty that can only be compared to movies that I know i have seen but can’t quite put my finger on. As an event planner, I saw a photo on every corner, and some awesome places where you can have a wedding ceremony, reception area, bar area, and dining of course. As you walk down the pathways that are surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and flowers, you encounter such exotic animals as monkeys, macaws, flamingos, giant tortoises, and cranes, just to name a few.

All in all, if you are looking for an awesome venue to host a wedding, baby shower, birthday party, or corporate event here in South Florida, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, this is truly a great place.
